About R&D Cell

SREYAS Institute of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad is one of the premier institutions in the field of Technical Education, established in 2011. The institute is located at the heart of Hyderabad city with a lush green environment. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Telangana.

The Research and Development Cell (R&D Cell) promotes the students and faculty members of the institute for research and innovation-related activities in their respective domains. It aims to nurture research culture and training in research and related skills, to enhance the academic quality and the general research capability of budding entrepreneurs to compete in the technical world.

The R&D centre tries to bridge the gap between academics and industries to make education more sustainable. This centre is committed to improving the quality of education in terms of technology-based learning and provides solutions for societal problems. It enhances and facilitates disciplinary and interdisciplinary research collaboration, knowledge transfer, and training.

Objectives

  • To identify research thrust areas, promoting research, evaluating and disseminating research outcome.
  • To promote the faculty member to publish their research article with quality publishers.
  • To provide the guidance for applying research proposal to Govt. funding agencies for the grant.
  • To organize the workshop, conferences, FDP etc. for enrichment of quality of education.
  • To create awareness about filing Patents & IPR.
  • To identify the domain for centre of excellence, and establishing the centre of excellence.
  • Financial support to the faculty member for publishing their papers in Journals, attending the conferences, joining professional societies etc.
  • To establish relationships with industries for signing MoUs, getting consultancy and research projects for both faculty members and students.

Activities & Guidelines

Research Publications

Faculty members are encouraged to publish in International/National Journals or symposia. Minimum publications per year:

  • Professors: 3 Papers
  • Associate Professor: 2 Papers
  • Assistant Professor: 1 Paper

Every M.Tech student must write a research paper based on their dissertation. UG students are also encouraged (bonus 10 marks awarded to the batch).

Professional Memberships & MoUs

Each department has to sign at least one MoU per year with Industry or an Institute of national importance. Faculty should register for professional societies (IEEE, IETE, ISTE):

  • Professors: 4 memberships
  • Associate Professor: 2 memberships
  • Assistant Professor: 1 membership

Events & Programs

Workshops: Each department must organize one 7-day workshop during SUMMER on the latest developments in association with industry/institutes. Faculty must attend at least ONE workshop per year.

FDPs: Each department organizes one 7-day FDP during SEMESTER BREAK. Faculty must attend at least ONE FDP per year.

Conferences: Sreyas conducts an International Conference on even-numbered years, and a National Conference on odd-numbered years.

Sreyas International Journal (SIJST): A peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research and review articles in Engineering, Science, and Technology.
