Faculty Development Programmes

Electronics and ICT academy MNIT Jaipur FDP Winter Courses @ Sreyas Institute from 16th to 21st December 2019

Faculty Development Programmes in core areas of Electronics and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) streams have been planned by academies for delivery during winters (i.e., Dec’19 – Jan’20). All these winter courses are being offered through National Knowledge Network (NKN) based Video Conferencing,

Which is a Government of India Initiative for Employability Enhancement and is supported by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology under the Digital India scheme.


All the lectures delivered by invited experts from IITs, NITs, IIITs and other premier institutes/industries. In addition, local course coordinators at respective academies / identified remote centers will take care of sessions on design orientation/activity linked problems/assignments/ case studies and quiz test(s).


We are proud to announce that Sreyas Institute of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad is a remote center for Electronics and ICT academy MNIT Jaipur., where the participating faculty will attend live lectures given by IIT faculty members, through VidyoDesktop Mechanism. Furthermore, the participants can interact with the Faculty.
As a part of this winter course, Sreyas Institute of Engineering & Technology hosted a Five-day Workshop on “VLSI Chip Design Hands-on using Open Source EDA” from 16th December to 21st December 2019 in association with Electronics and ICT academy MNIT Jaipur.


The workshop was inaugurated with the opening speech from Prof. Vineet Sahula, chief coordinator (Electronics and ICT academy) welcoming all dignitaries and delegates followed by a keynote address. The first two days of the workshop Mr. Kunal P Ghosh (Director, VSD Corp. Pvt. Ltd.) explain the concepts of Introduction to SoC Design, Floor-planning & Library cells.

Third-day H.S Jatana (SCL, Dept Of Space Mohali)and Prof. Vineet Sahula (Dept Of ECE, MNIT Jaipur) had delivered the sessions on CMOS Layout, Process and RTL synthesis. In the last two days of the works shop, Mr.Kunal P Ghosh explained various research problem designs and project Faculty Development Programmes works.

During the workshop, the instructors assessed the learning pattern of participants through online quiz. Across India, a total of 743 participants had participated in this workshop. At our remote center (Sreyas Institute of Engineering & Technology) 24 faculty members have participated in the workshop and learned the new way of implementing the VLSI designs by using open source tools.
